The second and most likely the last cycle of blooms for 2010 of the Night Blooming Cereus happened on September 9, 2010. Enjoy the blooms.

What kind of potting medium do you use? Someone just gave us some cuttings and told us to simply stick it into the soil.
I would suggest that you use any potting soil that you can obtain from such retailers as Ace, Home Depot or Lowes or your local garden center.
Please be aware that the Night Blooming Cereus is a tropical plant and thus very easy to grow.
I do feed the plants, which are all in fourteen inch pots twice or three times each summer with a liquid fertilizer.
They do thrive in shade.
I wish you well and please remember that they are very easy to grow. It will take a few years before you have cuttings that are mature enough so that you can enjoy the blooms.
But, let me assure you it is well worth the wait.
Thank you, good sir! Very excited.
