Blue Star Memorial
Marker Dedication
Cartersville, Georgia
Veteran's Day
11 November 2016

It was a Red, White and Blue day in Bartow County, Georgia as The Magnolia Garden Club of Cartersville, Georgia dedicated the first Blue Star Memorial Marker in that county on Veteran's Day 2016.  The first picture of this Post shows three members of the Garden Club at the Reception, however I selected to be placed here because of the colors.

The Bartow County Court House is just East of
the site of the Marker.

The Cass High School ROTC performed the Color Guard Duty.

Vicki Jones, President of the Magnolia Garden Club Welcomed the
guest which numbered well over 100 citizens.

This young citizen proudly wore her Grand Father's Hat.

The Heroes standing are members of the Purple Heart
Recipients of the local area.

President of the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Martha Price presents
Greetings from both the National Garden Club as well as the
Garden Club of Georgia, Inc.

Janice Marie Thiese, Garden Club of Georgia Blue Star Marker
Chairperson presents the History of the Blue Star Memorial Marker.

Norman McAllistser, Commander of Viet Nam Veterans
of Bartow County addressed the attendees.

Unveiling of the Marker.

TAPS was performed by John Houghton.

The new Blue Star Memorial Marker shares the location with this Memorial
which list the Heroes of Bartow County, Georgia.

Some of the Veterans who were in attendance.

The Dedication Ceremony concluded with a Reception at the
Roselawn Carriage House.

This dedication was certainly an appropriate event to Honor Our Nation's Heroes this Veteran's Day 2016.  The Blue Star Memorial Markers honor our Nation's Past Heroes, our Current Heroes and those who will Defend our Nation in the Future.
